Help Hospitalized Veterans
Help Hospitalized Veterans’ primary mission is to enrich the lives of veterans and military personnel. Healing arts and crafts provide a therapeutic experience for all veterans including those who are hospitalized, in shelters, in convalescent homes and those undergoing therapy for a wide range of physical and mental challenges. Many veterans experience symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) which increase the risk for depression, physical injuries, substance abuse and sleep problems. The kits, provided free of charge to the veteran, become a part of the patient’s treatment plan, giving them a creative outlet along with tangible therapeutic and rehabilitation benefits. They improve fine motor skills, cognitive functioning, memory improvement, anger issues and dexterity as well as decrease the severity of PTSD/TBI triggers including anxiety, memories, sadness and frustration.
The materials they are most in need of include:
Acrylic paints for wood craft projects (non-toxic)
Fine tip paint brushes
Medium paint brushes
Wood Glue (Elmer’s non-toxic)
Sketch Pads (any size)

Cash donations will be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project
Wounded Warrior Project provides free programs and services focused on the physical, mental, and long-term financial well-being of this generation of injured veterans, their families and caregivers. The long-term strategic goal of Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history. We will accomplish this vision by raising awareness and enlisting the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members; helping injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other; and providing unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs. Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) positively impacts the lives of injured service members through a high-touch, holistic approach, reaching out to warriors at a personal level by engaging them at numerous points throughout their recovery continuum. By emphasizing our core programs – focused on Outreach and Engagement, Mental Health Support, Physical Health & Wellness, and Financial Assistance, Employment, and Education – WWP works to confront the spectrum of barriers to successful reintegration that many veterans face. As one of the fastest-growing national charities, WWP provides the largest scope of programs and services to veterans at every phase and stage of their recovery and transition.
