Position Description

The Library Assistant will provide administrative support and assist the Research & Information Services department with reference and information services requests. This may include creating and assigning database passwords; creating and updating department intranet pages; creating and distributing communications to the firm; communicating with vendors about account problems; managing the routing of both print and electronic subscriptions; maintaining accurate library records in the Integrated Library System; locating library materials and filling Interlibrary Loan requests; shelving materials; processing invoices; and other clerical duties such as filing, word processing, photocopying and mailing out materials.

Required experience includes a minimum of one year of general office experience, preferably in a library or professional services environment; proficient with Microsoft Office; a strong attention to detail; the ability to work independently and within a team environment; and solid customer service and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree; knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Publisher; a basic understanding of library policies and procedures; and knowledge of various types of resources and services available to librarians and library users.
