Part-Time Research Assistant – Marketing

General Statement of Duties:

Locke Lord LLP has an immediate opening for a part-time Research Assistant in its Chicago office. The Research Assistant helps the Firm-wide Marketing & Business Development team prepare comprehensive research on clients and potential client companies for practice and industry groups, lawyers and Firm leaders so they are positioned to utilize this intelligence to increase Firm business. This can include corporate, legal and industry targeted research. The Assistant reports to the Business Development Research Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working with online databases and internet-based resources to help provide additional information and analysis of data for our company research reports
  • Updating existing spreadsheet projects posted on our intranet that attorneys utilize regularly for business development strategizing
  • Collaborating with the Business Development Coordinator and Manager on special research projects
  • Education & Experience:
  • B.A. in Marketing, Library Sciences, or related area.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with various online databases, including Lexis, Westlaw and PACER
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, time management and organization skills.
  • Possess the ability to work cohesively with all positions with the Firm.
  • Ability to work in a professional environment.

Additional Information:

Supervisory Responsibility – No supervisory responsibility

Work Environment – This position operates in a professional office environment.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours – This is a part-time position, and will be expected to work 25 hours per week.

Travel – Little to no travel is expected for this position.
