Position Description
The Albert E. Jenner, Jr., Memorial Law Library of the University of Illinois invites applications and nominations for the position of Access & Operations Librarian at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor.  The Access & Operations Librarian is a critical member of the Law Library management team who is responsible for supervising the day-to-day work of one Civil Service employee, and five FTE student assistants.  Working with the Law Library Director, the Senior Associate Director for Administration, library faculty, and library staff, the Access & Operations Librarian manages the library’s circulation and access functions.  The Access & Operations Librarian also teaches one or more legal research course(s), and supports law faculty and law student research. This is an exciting position for someone who enjoys working closely with faculty and students, teaching legal research courses, and joining a team of creative, dedicated colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and Master’s degree in Information or Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution or the equivalent.  At least one year of experience in a law school library in a university setting with demonstrated experience supervising law library staff.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated successful experience teaching law students and partnering with law faculty on research projects.
