From the AALL Government Relations Office:
On July 10, Representatives Leonard Lance (R-N.J.) and Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) introduced H. Res. 727, the Congressional Research Service Electronic Accessibility Resolution of 2012. The resolution would require the Congressional Research Service (CRS) to make its highly-valued reports available to the public at no cost.
Please contact your representative today and ask him/her to support H. Res. 727. Unlike most other legislation, this bill only needs to be adopted by the House of Representatives. If Rep. Quigley is your representative, thank him for introducing this important legislation and let him know you support it. You can use AALL’s Legislative Action Center to explain why access to CRS reports is important to you and ask your representative to support this resolution. Or follow tips from AALL’s newly redesigned Advocacy Toolkit to call or meet with your member of Congress. Thanks in advance for taking action!
